Sensient Technologies Corporation has entered into a definitive agreement to sell certain assets related to the production of its fruit yoghurt preparations to Frulact, the global ingredients supplier headquartered in Oporto, Portugal. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2020.

As a result of this transaction, Sensient will be named a core supplier of flavours, colours, and other related products used by Frulact in its fruit preparation business. The companies will work together to ensure an efficient transition of production.

Headquartered in Wisconsin, Sensient is a global supply chain partner. The company develops specialised solutions for food and drink, as well as products that serve the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, cosmetic, and personal care industries.

Paul Manning, Sensient chief executive, explained that this divestiture is the second transaction out of three divestitures that have progressed to the signing of a definitive agreement.

“I am pleased that we have been able to reach agreement on the sale of the inks business and the yoghurt fruit preparations product line, which will allow us to focus on our core food and personal care product lines,” he said.

Sensient, which is listed on the New York Stock exchange under the ticker SXT, announced the sale of its ink business earlier this month.

Frulac is a business group established in 1987, positioned as a top-ranked innovative company in the supply of added value ingredients for the food and drink industry. The group has a global presence across three continents, with nine business units in Portugal, Morocco, France, South Africa and Canada.
