ModifyHealth, a US-based provider of gut-friendly, low-FODMAP and gluten-free meals, has raised $2 million in a Series A funding round led by Nashville Capital Network (NCN). The Georgia-based start-up said its partnership with NCN will help support the continued growth of its ‘food as medicine’ solutions. The fresh capital will be used to expand operations across the US.

“ModifyHealth is a perfect fit for NCN and our investor partnership,” said Chase Perry, managing partner at NCN. “The ModifyHealth team has delivered rapid growth on a national scale, and we look forward to supporting the company’s market leadership and the next chapter of growth.”

Following the investment, Perry will join the company’s board of directors.

ModifyHealth claims that its service is recommended by gastroenterologists and dietitians alike. Meals are Monash University low-FODMAP certified, organic, non-GMO, delivered fully prepared and supported with expert dietitian consultations to ensure positive outcomes.

The start-up said its home-delivered meals along with dietitian support and digital health solutions deliver evidenced-based treatments for GI conditions, such as irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, and celiac disease.

“We’re excited to partner with Nashville Capital Network and look forward to putting this new capital to work to support more customers,” said GB Pratt, founder chief executive of ModifyHealth. “There’s a growing recognition of the vital role ‘food as medicine’ will play in the management of chronic health conditions, and we’re just scratching the surface on the impact we can make.”

NCN manages more than $75 million in assets and comprises more than 100 professional investors and four captive funds. ModifyHealth is NCN’s 50th investment in the US.

NCN is currently investing out of its fourth fund, NCN Partners Fund.
