Landscape VC review platform launches in the UK
The Glassdoor-style online platform has released the first version of the app with hundreds of founders’ reviews of venture capital firms
Landscape, a Glassdoor-style platform for founders to review venture capital firms, has officially launched in the UK. The initiative is the brainchild of Manchester-based Joe Perkins, who founded Landscape in June this year.
“We’re really excited to have just launched V1 of our review app, massive props to all of the incredible founders that have shared their experiences for the good of the community,” Landscape said in a statement.
Landscape explained that today marks the launch of its minimum viable product, which is mobile-only. The desktop version is expected to hit the market later this year. In the coming weeks, the Landscape online community platform will open alongside further announcements.
As originally revealed by NutritionInvestor, Landscape will operate in the same way as Glassdoor, the review portal for people to review their former employers.
On Landscape, entrepreneurs, founders and start-up employees will be able to submit anonymous reviews about venture capital and equity growth companies they have worked with previously.
“We want to increase fairness, accessibility and transparency in fundraising,” reads a statement on the Landscape website.
The initiative claims that through the anonymous reviews, entrepreneurs and founders will be able to discover the right investors for their business. “Our support community and educational content [are] here to help you build meaningful investment relationships.”
The anonymous founders score VCs and accelerators they have interacted with based on 12 different factors, including approachability, diversity, and response time.
Founders also provide information about themselves, including details about the business, and whether the firm they are reviewing invested in the start-up.
While Landscape is a free platform for founders to use, it offers a paid subscription for VCs, unlocking premium services, such as the right of reply.
